Yes, this is Niche Blogging as the title above indicates. Just like in any journey that you embark on or start; there is a plan, a strategy or an intent that guides you up - in order to achieve the ultimate goal(s) which begins with a single step, to reach your final destination. Well, that applies here too, because it's the same case with blogging - although in a different context. Again with the blogging journey, it is important in making every effort to reach those crucial target audience(s) - the beginners and potential bloggers. So as a blogger, that has to be your fundamental plan, as is done by most bloggers out there, both the newbies and those experts who have been in the industry long enough.
They all have an audience target plan.
So today in this post, am just going to simply outline for you what you need to know about the two most important audiences whom you should never ignore in your blogging journey, in terms of; who they are, their categories, where to find them and which problems they would most likely seek or want to be solved.
NB: Disclosure, "this post contains affiliate materials, contents, banners and/or links; and if you click on any of them we will earn commissions from your actions/activities. But note that revenue earning is not the main aim of this post in any way whatsoever. Opinions expressed here are our own and DOES NOT imply or represent those of any third-party and their associates in this website".
So here we go, and below they are.
1. The Beginners/New Bloggers (Newbies).
These are the audiences who have already started their own blogging journey, which means they recently created and now own a blog/website. And in that case, I would also say that they only have just a few months - like maybe (between 1-12months) - into their blogging experience. So in their work as blogger audiences, they may be practicing differently i.e writing, app development, tech activities etc, and can become or specialize in any area, like the ones I have listed here below, i.e;
- Social media blog/posts.
- Blog posts.
- Copywriting
- Social media posts.
- Video tutorials.
- Infographics, photography and imagery blogs.
- Podcasts/Audio.
- App development,
among several other areas.

Note: These newcomers or beginners, may either get into blogging as pure Amateur bloggers (those that are starting from scratch while learning the ropes and sharpening their skills in blogging) or as Expert-beginner bloggers (those who have experience in their chosen niche/industry, and now they want to share their expertise with the rest of the world as bloggers). These newcomers I would also say they may further be sub-divided based on their blogging orientations, and can also fall into different sub-categories and the subsequent descriptions respectively, as follows;
a). Sub-category and description.
- The New Webmasters or Site Owners. These are basically the new web-owners, who are in their initial stages of blogging less than a year, and that's where every other industry expert began. They would want to see their blog rank on SERPs, that means every information about blogging is very important for them here. So, like every other blogger out there (including you and I), the more traffic they receive on a daily basis, the higher their motivation to carry on with their blogging journey and/or work. Regardless of a number of problems/challenges here and there that they go through and would want to be solved.
- New Web Publishers. They are more or less the same as those in the first category above, but the main difference here is that their publishing work is leaning more towards niche/industry marketing as opposed to those who are blogging as a hobby or for fun, as indicated below. Here just like the rest of the bloggers, the more visitor traffic-flow into their sites is a plus, it keeps the ball rolling.
- The New Affiliate Marketers. They are those new publishers too, but are new into affiliate marketing. These group of target audiences have already been blogging for a few months now, period as described above; but have recently joined affiliate marketing networks/programs to promote and/or market their merchant product/services.
- The New Content Marketers. These group or niche target are those newbies who are already into content marketing; in terms of creating strategic posts, articles or contents that are relevant, specific, targeted, but most importantly they deliver content that is highly informative to a known group of their own audience(s) or prospects to encourage and/or drive their actions into actual purchase of products/services, online subscription, registration etc. They are not more concerned about making first in marketing themselves, but are more considerate of their own web visitors/audiences in a content marketing perspective. So if these group of niche market is what you are targeting then have a strategy in place that will ensure you create content that satisfies their needs. Note: Generally, you will find them in any niche.
- New Copywriters. These particular group of niche audience are more concerned with ideas that will help them create better advertisement copies that can drive awareness, business and eventually generation of revenue/income for both themselves and their clients.
- Web Design and Developers. This is a more technical area, and if you are a blogger with these types of audiences in mind then I do believe you are equally technologically advanced and more savvy to advice them when it comes to blogging in web development and programming issues like the backend, frontend, user-friendly web navigations and systems, HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, Programming skills etc. That is so because a web designer/developer handles various clients who might not be the same as them, including content managers among others whom they collaborate with a lot to come up with a perfect end product.
- App/Software Developers. They are more or less the same as the web developers but they are more inclined to design and to come up with Apps/softwares that can power different mobile phones, tablets, iPhones and even a personal PC. They create apps that are compatible with different Android phone versions, iOS etc. As a tech blog/website owner targeting them, then specifically those are some of the areas that needs your concerted effort, experience and expertise to advice that group of audience. But most important here is your advice to them on appreciate mobile software builders or development platforms like the Appy Pie, Mobile Roadie etc.
- SEO Strategists. When it comes to search engine campaigns, organic traffic increament strategies and inbound marketing ideas; that are intended to drive traffic to a website, then SEO Strategists are the target niche audience who can handle all that well. So remember, that they are very new in blogging and for that developing a fully functioning blog/website requires a lot of time and patience, especially to these kind of newbies including all others out there. So here is where your SEO skills and expertise comes in handy to tap into this market/niche audience.
- Content Developers/Creators. Its a more creative and at the same time a technical target group of audiences. With their experience and expertise in web design and development they can also specifically be targeting their own varied clients and audiences who need creative contents developed for then. It can be in technology, content marketing, affiliate marketing among other fields.
- Influencer Marketers. With much influence that they have on their particular social media audience, they are able to turnaround a marketing campaign and influence their followers towards a certain blog or product/service that they may be attached to. They have blogging needs too, to be solved just like the rest of bloggers out their, like those mentioned in this post. If you have been in the industry for long and you are an authority in this niche for instance, then your expertise here is definitely a plus to these type of audience.
- Social Media Specialists. They are responsible for creation, driving campaigns and planning strategies that are aimed at lifting a company's brand awareness among its audience in the social media forums and/or platforms. And by handling such important dockets as the company's social media managers they are looking up to you for your expertise in that field to help them succeed in their tasks of reaching their target market by churning out relevant contents that are specifically intended to increase the company's sales. So come up with targeted contents that can address such crucial social media needs for both himself as the specialist and the company in general.
- The Strategists. Web Strategists will always be more encouraged by the influence and the impact that they bring or provide to their niche/industry audiences.
- New Hobby/Personal Bloggers. Here, these are bloggers in general who do it for fun - as a hobby. They have no specific financial gain intent but their motivation here is their inspirational hobby motives to teach their audience a thing or two about what they know. Earning income/money from blogging is not their main goal and they don't mind giving you information for free as long as it is what gives them joy.
Although the above list is not exhaustive, but those are some of the subcategories of the two main niches (beginners and potential bloggers) under discussion in this article. The subcategories further forms other different but entirely independent niches to target.
b). The target audience sources (where to find the beginner bloggers).
The following are common places where you will most likely find them, if new bloggers are your target audience;
- online/internet,
- on web forums (like Q&A forums).
- online communities.
- on social media channels and/or platforms e.g FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, E-mail lists, Instagram, Google+ etc.
So, those areas listed above are some of the most prominent places where you will or most assured to find your target audience - in your specific niche, in your blogging journey.
c). Problems that the new bloggers or beginners would seek to be addressed/solved.
As bloggers, the newbies are also sometimes straggling to achieve or meet their web presence and blogging gaols. And they too also go through quite a number of challenges that they basically focus on to try solve by themselves or depend on your experience and expertise as an industry authority to help them up.
The following are most likely the areas (interms of blogging problems) that they will seek your help on to be solve, i.e;
- They want to learn how to optimize their blog posts. Which are the key areas of optimization to look into or can be addressed, based on blogging and SEO best practices?
- Learn ways to drive both organic/paid traffic into their websites or blogs.
- Tips on web prominence and presence.
- Ways to protect their blog/websites from security issues, like against hacking.
- How to migrate or move your blog from one blogging platform to the next, e.g from Blogger to WordPress and vice versa.
- Tips on how to handle technical issues related to the blog/website (like how to customize blog themes, layout etc).
- Tips on or how to tweak around their blog to solve little technical problems here and there.
- How to beat and/or stay on the edge of their niche/industry's competition.
- Ways to write catchy post titles/headlines.
- How to attract clients and get contracts for online services.
- How to monetize a blog/websites' post or contents.
- What are the effective affiliate marketing ideas, strategies and methods.
- How to do keyword research.
- How to write, edit and publish your blog posts etc.
- What are ways to promote a blog post on social media?
So those are some of the problems that you need to look into, and solve for them.
2. Potential/Would-be Bloggers.
These are target audiences or in other words, prospects who are planning to start or create a new blog/website, and for that case, they are now seeking general information about blogging, to help give them a head-start on what needs to be done or not.
a). The target audience sources (where to find the potential bloggers).
Just like the newbie bloggers, you mostly find them;
- online/internet,
- on web forums,
- online communities,
- on social media platforms e.g FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+ etc.
b). What the Potential or Would-be bloggers would seek to learn, to know or how a problem would be solved.
This second group of blogger-audiences are more generalised, they may not be clearly segmented at this point as the beginners are above. They are those who are still shopping around, because they have not yet fully decided in their minds whether to join or start blogging as a whole, and if so, which area should they major in on or specialize in. They are still on their learning curve.
So, depending on which area(s) they would prefer to niche-target, wether as a hobby or for financial gain; regardless of if they already have previous experience or expertise in any field or not, that they would like to venture in on and to blog about, they are still in various stages of seeking relevant blogging informations and guides to understand better the following;
- They want to know how to start or create a blog/website. What are the step-by-step guides?
- How to become a blogger.
- How to start a personal blog.
- What are general and specific costs they are likely to incur to start/own a blog/website (in terms of domain name and hosting fees etc).
- How to write a blog post.
- What are the different types or examples of blogs (like; personal blogs, business blogs, freelance blogs etc).
- How do bloggers earn or make money online.
- What is a blog or blogging?
- They want to know if bloggers are required to pay taxes.
- To know if bloggers are required to have a business or operation license.
- How to come up with a blog name/title.
Among several other FAQs and intent-based questions.
Generally the potential group would first be looking for adequate information to guide their prospective blogging decisions.
Consolidated Solutions to Help Those Two (The Beginners and Potential Bloggers) Niche Audiences.
To sum it up, this is the summary collective solution to the above highlighted problems, for both the beginners and the potential bloggers. So, if you niche down as your blogging strategy, then;
- Consider writing your articles or contents around those areas indicated above. Be specific on what you want them to do e.g create a video tutorial on how to start a blog, provide a step by step guide on SEO etc.
- Regularly/consistently publish contents that are of value, relevant and are intended to address issues highlighted above. So being on schedule and relevance is key here.
- Market them targeting these two (the beginners and potential bloggers) most important audiences in your niche-blogging. So, niche down, don't generalize.
- Provide solutions that are sustainable and focused around helping them meet those needs and/or answer such crucial questions. For instance, teach your audience a trick or two that can help them permanently tweak to solve a blog customization problem like, the blog layout, theme, title appearance, colour scheme etc.
Conclusion.
My last words on this topic is to leave you with the following tip; even though your audience's needs are open and glaring right before your eyes, based on what I have listed or highlighted for you on their specific needs in part (c) above, but - always do a topic-cum-niche based keyword research (starting with the seed-keywords) to be more specific, relevant and most importantly targeted; in-order to find out what your audience searches for and eventually what to write about. That way you will provide your niche audience with quality user-experience (UX).
I hope this helps; and if so, then don't forget to share with your audience too, friends, colleagues among other groups of your interest.
Last but not least, as my most appreciated reader, I just want to kindly encourage you to let me know if I have left anything important about the above topic out. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
