Although the process of finding the right ones (blog name and/or domain name) can sometimes be very hectic, and may even take you longer than you would expect to conclude that whole exercise. You need not to just to pick a blog name and its subsequent domain name that you feel sounds or reads good to you. But a good, easy-to-read short blog name, and the eventual domain name should be one that remain memorable in the minds of your site visitors/users for a long time.
So always consider that in mind.
Note: When filling in for your domain name, you will have to provide the hosting service provider with your selected website or blog name. Although you need also to remember that you can change your blog name later. But for a domain name, once you register it then it will remain that way forever, you can't change it again anyhowly. At least that kind of restriction is almost equal with all web-host service providers whenever you finally decide to host your site online.

Now, below are some of the factors that you need to consider when coming up with a website or blog name and its eventual domain name (even if you decide to go for the exact match domain name way or not). So always choose wisely.
Here are the 6 factors to consider when choosing a new domain name:
1). Short, Clear and Easy to Read Domain Name.
Don't make or come up with a name (i.e, site/blog name or domain name) that is long, because it will become too hard for your readers/audience to read quickly or faster, and memorize it. Longer names tend to look bulky, ambiguous and undesirable. Take a look at these two examples, "mybriskcontentblog.com" and "briskcontent.com".Now, between the two domain name examples above, which one would you go for?
Yes..., I can almost guess and know exactly your choice in mind already.
And your choice definitely is the second one, i.e "briskcontent.com" (which is already registered and associated with my blog). It is more shorter, looks appealing and appears more clearer in meaning (if it adds any value and is something that you would want to consider in a domain name).
So shorter is better as a site name or domain name.
2). Always Choose a Memorable Name.
What this means is that you need to come up with a name that is easy to remember. You don't want to give your blog a name or a domain name that I will read as a visitor, and the moment I leave your site it has already disappeared from my memory. That becomes a problem for me (as your site visitor) to think about, because I will need to write it down somewhere before I even type it on my browser's search bar.
Tip: Short enhances name memorability, so remember to consider that too.
3). Will You Go The Exact Match Domain Name or Not?
The exact match domain name means that you choose a domain name that matches the exact name of your blog, website or business topic. For instance, if we take a hypothetical example of a blog name, like "Think On Drones" which will give you a direct impression to drones. And the exact match domain name which is "thinkondrones.com", assuming it has not already been taken or registered by someone else online. Which means it is still available for registration.Although this strategy used to be an in thing when it comes to picking a domain name sometimes back (in the 70's and 80's when blogging started), targeting ranking on the search engines. But not any more in the world of blogging and domain name ranking today. Things have changed with the Google algorithm, e.g Panda, Penguin etc, that gets updates every year, to monitor such tricks. But doing keyword research also will help you to identify the right name depending on the topic that trends online. So use keyword research method to find a name and a domain name for your blog, when you think about exact match domain names.
Note: Nowadays it (exact match domain name) doesn't help much effect with Google search ranking; athough it is appealing more.
The choice is now your to make when it comes to the exact match domain name selection. So think think about it.
4). Pick a Name That Depicts the Topic of Blogging.
Do you want to come up with a name like "Think On Drones" while you blog about "latest food and recipes in the market"?No, I don't think you want to do that.
And in fact you will be misleading your readers terribly. Although it doesn't have to have the same exact domain name match, but it shouldn't also be a misleading domain name to your audience too.
You should consider a name that if they (audience) look at, definitely they will think your website is all about Drones (digital hand controlled aerial photography flights or gadgets) in the first place, and not about food, before they even click to explore your site more. So thats very important when you are looking for a website's name and a domain name.
So, it is very important for your blog's domain name to depict the topic of blogging.
5). Think About Why You Want to Blog?
You need to think about why you want to blog. This is another important factor for you to think about; the reason why you want to create a new blog or website, and start blogging, in the first place. It is a very key factor that you should also consider in coming up with a blog name and the domain name without too much thinking. So for example, do you want to help other follow bloggers with SEO needs, making money online etc.
Now, based on that, your business or blog name it can be something like this SEO Traffic Magnet with a domain name like this (seotrafficmagnet.com). This is an exact match type of domain name, but which means the reason for you to start a blog is a topic on SEO (Search Engine Optimization), which will help you come up with a domain name that matches your blog or business name later, but with a specific reason to target those with SEO needs for their sites.
So always think of the reason why you want to blog.
6). Domain Name Extensions.
A domain name extension is also a very important consideration when you are coming up with a domain name, or creating a blog/website. It is an extension that you normally see at the end of every website i.e (.com, .org, .net, .fr, .biz, .edu etc). But the (.com) domain name extension is more popular and most commonly used worldwide than the rest. Thats why most people prefer it. Although it will cost you a little bit higher at $10+ per year to register your domain name with a (.com) extension, due to its popularity. So the more popular a domain name extension is, the more sought after it is, thats why so many people prefer to use it, and that makes it become even more scarce.
The other domain name extensions will cost you even more than $10 per year, depending on the type of the extension that you go for. Because some are even unique. The (.org) extensions are also charged higher sometimes depending on; the domain name seller, the geographical area and/or web hosting service provider's - Bluehost, Hostinger, Dreamhost etc - pricing strategy. Thats where you can buy a domain name with different extensions of your choice.
Note: The problem is, that you may find that the website name that you may have chosen has already been taken, and is in use by another site. Which may leave you with an option of a similar domain name, but with the alternative domain extensions like .org, .net, .fr, biz, edu etc. Which are still popular though.
There are also domain name extensions that are regional and/or country specific e.g, (.uk) for UK, (.fr) for France the country. And so on.
So that means if you target audiences from a specific area or geographical region like France for instance, then you may decide to pick a domain name with an extension of a (.fr) at the end of your domain name URL. So it will have a domain name with something like this "briskcontent.fr" or "briskcontent.co.fr" that means its country specific to France. Or even a domain name like "briskcontent.co.uk" with a UK extension at the end.
Well, thats all for this post, so what you choose will depend on what goal you want to achieve in your blogging journey.
Conclusion.
To summarize it all, you need to think of such areas of selecting a blog name, and most importantly when it comes to choosing the best domain name and its extension. Because you can't change a domain name once you pick and register it, unless you register another one if you don't like the first that you had selected.Thats all, and I want to thank you for reading this post. But don't forget to share it with your friends and colleagues.
Thank you.
