How to Create a Blog in Blogger in Just 5 Minutes (Here's 3 Easy Steps).

 

Blogging has in no doubt become a norm in today's social networking and communication channel world, and is rapidly increasing as new blogs/websites are being created and millions of blog posts are published daily globally. But to many, that ever increasing way of life and spreading of information far and wide is a form of delight to them as blogging enthusiasts, but more so mainly as a hobby - just to pass time and/or disseminate relevant information on time.



A lot of people though are getting more interested in joining the league of bloggers out there, although with different reasons for doing it.

• Some want to join just as a way of making quick money.
• Others do it for fun/hobby.
• And yet, others do it with ulterior motives (bad intentions - to spread hatred, racism etc - trying to influence the world negatively), which I am NOT going to advocate or support or even tolerate in this blog, ever.

Note: So my advice for you and especially here in this entire blog/website, is that; whichever intention it is for you to join the blogging industry, do it well with advice, influence and to impact your audience world positively.

Now, that aside, let me begin by saying that starting a blog is pretty much easy and a very simple and straight forward process. It doesn't take you a lot of time, and you don't need to be an expert either, like in coding or web-designing for you to create a website or blog.

So today I am going to guide you up step by step on how to start a blog in blogger or blogspot in just 5 minutes; so follow the steps below once you open and launch that whole process in your browser e.g chrome, mozilla-firefox, safari, yahoo etc. You can do that right from your android smartphone, iPhone, laptop, tablet or your desktop PC. You should not feel restricted and limited on choice/which device you need to use to do so - to create a blog.

Well now, let as just follow this guide step by step to build your first blog in just 5 minutes.

Step #1: Go to blogger.com

Once you click on the blogger URL indicated above, you will be redirected or taken to a page like the one on the screenshot below. On that page, click on the create your blog link (it is displayed in an orange color button) to go to the next level, step #2.

NB: Remember that, since you are creating your blog for the first time don't click on the (Sign-in) link, which is on the top right corner of the blogger.com page as above. It would only make sense for you to click on the sign-in link if you already own a blog, as a blog/webmaster or blog administrator to login to your account(s). Although there is a drop down top bar that also reveals a pop-up to show the create your blog link when you point at it like you can see on the image below, and you can also go ahead and click on it too to start the process of creating a blog if you like, there is no problem.

Step #2: Fill in your details.

In this next stage/step, that you will reach once you have clicked on the create your blog link as shown on the screenshot above on step #1; then you will be directed now to the next stage, which is the page as shown below.

Later you will fill in all required personal/business title details i.e your preferred blog name/title (based on the niche or business you have chosen), your preferred blog address or URL etc as shown on the image above.

Then lastly at the above second stage you will have to click on theme to choose the blog theme template that you like or prefer (which you don't have to worry how it looks like, you can change it later) depending on the blog appearance that you like, in terms of color, font styles and size etc. But most importantly the business niche you venture into which will be a deciding factor in your theme choice.

The following screenshot shows you some of the theme templates that you can choose from. Like contempo, emporio, notable, simple, dynamic view, picture window, awesome inc, watermark, ethereal and travel themes. But there are also the classic themes that you can pick if you like.

After you have selected your preferred theme then click on create blog shown on the image above to create your blog. And that's it, you are done.

Step #3: Sign in to your blogger account.

Now that you have keyed in all your required personal/business details, chosen the right template and every detail have been checked, correctly verified and a link sent to your gmail account to allow you to click and access your blogspot publisher account, then that's it - your blog will be ready after that process.

Congratulations..!!! You are now a new webmaster.

Recap: But just to remind you, in this particular stage/step #3, you more or less repeat the same process like in step #1 above, where you now go to and click on blogger.com through any of your search engines or browsers e.g chrome, Yahoo etc to launch the blogger sign in page as the one shown below.

NB: The reason why Google redirects you to its sign-in page is because blogger/blospot is owned by them (Google), but most importantly it does so as a security verification measure. Just to confirm that you are the true owner of that gmail address that you have entered and to control the unreasonable/unethical use of the blogger's blogging platform to spread lies, hatred, negativity etc. They want to identify the true blog owner through gmail account.

So ensure you also visit the Blogger Content Policy to familiarize yourself with the type of contents that are allowed and the ones that are strictly prohibited.

So as we move forward, in the following Google sign-in page, you will simply fill in your current gmail address or telephone number in the text-box that pops up, as I have done in the image below.

Then click Next as shown in the blue button above.

BUT note that it will only happen after your blogger account has now been created and activated by Google. In the above page you now just key in your Gmail address (as I have done above) to go to the next window where you will key-in your password, then click the Sign-in button and you are right there - on your blogger navigation page.

Task: Since you are now a new webmaster and/or a blog owner, you can view, and try a few actions here and there just to familiarize yourself with your blogger publisher dashboard.

On the left side of your blogger publisher page, there is a menu with various items. Like you can try click on Post, Overview, Pages, Layout, Theme etc and just observe what happens (as you can notice that more windows open up) while you slowly learn how to navigate and use your blogger webmaster dashboard.

Write your first blog post.

Now that you have created and opened your blogger dashboard/navigation page, you can just go ahead to write and publish or post your very first ever blog post. That's the fun part of it. Although for today writing your first blog post was not part of our guide/tutorial, but I would like to reserve it for our next guide post to come in a few days time.

Last thought.

Creating or starting a blog/website should not be a hard task, especially for you the beginner or potential bloggers, I know the feeling of creating a blog must be an overwhelming one. But wait.. Do you think that process requires your know-how or even expertise in coding? NO, it doesn't at all.

Well, you don't have to worry it doesn't require that at all, it's just a straight forward process. Although if you have an idea about coding then that's an advantage for you.
